Work is currently being done behind the scenes for the 2021 Watertown Artwalk season. The Artwalk Committee looks forward to bringing in new sculptures next year. The Boys & Girls Club is currently assisting with care for healthcare workers’ and first responders’ children K- 6th grade. Grants from the Watertown Relief Fund are helping to support the child care program for health care workers/ first responders at the Club, Little Blessings and LATI Educare, as well as the extra precautions in progress at the Club due to COVID-19.

WACF Watertown Relief Fund Helps In Crisis
The Watertown Area Community Foundation Board has established the Watertown Relief Fund to support emergency needs of nonprofit organizations, and charitable groups in their increasing efforts to serve others during the COVID-19 pandemic. As Governor Kristi Noem stated earlier this week, we may not see the peak of the COVID-19 cases until mid-May/early June.

Goss Strides Closer to Campaign Goal
The Watertown Area Community Foundation announced recently that it has awarded a second $150,000 grant to the Friends of the Goss. The Watertown Development Company also has donated a second $150,000 gift. The FOG nonprofit has raised more than $4,250,000 as part of its $4,750,000 “Light Up the Goss” capital campaign which kicked off last June.

Board Thanks Reppe & Welcomes Ranum
As 2020 starts, the Watertown Area Community Foundation thanks Angie Reppe for her service on the WACF board and welcomes Julie Ranum. Reppe, who was appointed by the City of Watertown, served a five-year term, during which time the Foundation began the Area School Partnership Program, awarded its largest grant in history ($500,000 multiyear grant to the Boys & Girls Club) and celebrated its 40th anniversary (2019).
