Nominations Now Open for 2026 Yard of the Month

The watering cans are back out and ready for your nominations!
One of Watertown’s favorite summer traditions is returning in full bloom: Yard of the Month.
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Yard of the Month Awards, a community-favorite contest that celebrates homeowners and businesses who go the extra mile to beautify their outdoor spaces and add a little extra pride and personality to our community.
Each month this summer, one standout yard will be selected from each of Watertown’s five city wards, along with one business and one “Whimsical Yard” recognized for its creativity, charm, and character. Winners will be announced at the end of June, July, and August.
Whether it’s colorful flower beds, a welcoming front porch, creative landscaping, or simply a yard that makes people smile as they drive by, organizers encourage residents to nominate the spaces that help make Watertown shine during the summer months.
How to Nominate a Yard
Complete a nomination form and drop it into one of the watering can drop boxes located at:
- County Fair Foods
- Curated
- Gather Coffee
- Watertown Flowers
- Watertown Regional Library
- Wheel Inn
Nominations can also be submitted online at: bit.ly/WatertownYardoftheMonth. Property owners are welcome to nominate their own yard.
Winners Receive:
- A “Yard of the Month” sign to proudly display
- A certificate signed by the Mayor
- Neighborhood bragging rights
- Local stardom through local media and community social media channels
From petunias and porch swings to creative landscaping and curb appeal, Yard of the Month is all about celebrating the pride residents take in making Watertown a more beautiful and welcoming place to call home.
