Exciting Firsts for Artwalk Now in its 11th Season

June 2, 2025

This year marks 11 years of bringing public art to the streets of Watertown, and the tradition of Artwalk continues stronger than ever thanks to the support of sponsors, volunteers, artists, and the community.

“We’re so thankful for everyone who helps make Artwalk happen,” said Joy Nelson, President of the Friends of Artwalk. “Our sponsors help keep creativity alive throughout Watertown, our volunteers roll up their sleeves and make it all look just right, and the community keeps showing up and embracing the art year after year. It’s a real community effort.”

This year’s Artwalk includes an exciting new sculpture placement at Foundation Plaza, featuring a piece by local artist Doris Symens Armstrong. “We’re thrilled to debut this new location, and even more excited that it features the work of a local talent,” Nelson added.

Another exciting addition this year is the debut of Otocast, an interactive audio tour that lets viewers hear directly from the artists about their inspiration and stories behind each piece. Each sculpture has a QR code on its nameplate that links to the audio. Otocast was made possible by Visit Watertown and Friends of Artwalk.

Now is the time to get outside and enjoy Watertown’s Artwalk—where every step brings a splash of creativity to your day!
