Joy Ranch of South Dakota: A place for every kid to be a kid!

Nestled just outside Watertown, Joy Ranch of South Dakota is a year-round retreat center dedicated to providing life-changing experiences for people of all ages and abilities. Known for its fully accessible facilities, Joy Ranch welcomes campers with a wide variety of physical challenges and medical needs – including specialty camps for kids battling cancer, living with spina bifida, and, potentially soon, children recovering from burn injuries.
At Joy Ranch, every camper gets to experience horseback riding, boating, swimming, and games, while feeling like “just another one of their friends.” With bunkhouses thoughtfully designed to include adjacent rooms for caregivers and nurses, campers can enjoy independence while staying safe and supported. From singing around the campfire to making new friends who understand their challenges, Joy Ranch offers a space where all kids can truly be kids.
