The Watertown Relief Fund at the Watertown Area Community Foundation is $25,000 stronger thanks to a Making Life Great grant from Great Western Bank. The Making Life Great grants program targets innovative programs that enhance the quality of life within the communities in which Great Western Bank serves. “Now more than ever, we need to be committed and find ways to be relevant in the communities we serve.” said Mark Borrecco, Great Western Bank president and chief executive officer.

The Watertown Relief Fund has awarded more than $72,000 in grants thus far in support of area organizations and charitable groups’ increased services to those directly affected by COVID 19. WRF grants have assisted with food, 3D printers to print PPE, computers and other technology to support required meetings and services with no in-person contact due to CDC restrictions, child care for health care workers and first responders’ children and more.

“This is just one example of the great partnership the Foundation has shared with Great Western Bank over the years,” said Jan DeBerg, Foundation executive director. “The Foundation is truly grateful and knows this grant will make an impact for many amidst struggles of the pandemic.”

Organizations may apply for grants from the Watertown Relief Fund by contacting the Foundation: 211 E. Kemp Ave., Watertown, SD 57201; email: foundation@iw.net or (605) 882-3731. The WRF grant application is also on the Foundation’s website: watertowncommunityfoundation.org
